PFISTERER has sold its Rail division to Knill Energy Holding GmbH with effect from 28/12/2021. With this step, PFISTERER is focusing on its core competencies in the areas of components and systems for high-voltage overhead lines and underground cable networks.

Spanish grid operator i-DE Redes Eléctricas Inteligentes, member of the Iberdrola Group, is using the advantages of the new oil and gas free retrofit terminations from PFISTERER for the renewal of its network infrastructure. They allow the existing cable to be retained when ageing terminations are replaced. Easy to install, they also safeguard the environment in the long term.
PFISTERER is expanding its range of terminations with DOC, the first dry and self-supporting outdoor cable termination up to 170 kV. Completely preassembled and fully routine tested, it cuts installation time from hours to minutes. Energie Steiermark in Austria is already using this maintenance-free, environmentally and operationally safe solution.
Scottish operator SSE Renewables and turbine manufacturer Vestas have selected the offshore-optimised SEANEX inner cone system by PFISTERER to connect more than 100 10MW wind turbines in the Seagreen project in the Western North Sea. The system offers significant benefits during installation and continuous operation of the 66 kV inter-array cabling.

PFISTERER Spain has been running a collaboration aimed at integration of mentally and physically handicapped people for more than two years with great success. The PFISTERER team and the employees of Fundació Tallers quickly developed a synergistic team spirit, and they are proud of the successful collaboration.
PFISTERER is currently installing the longest underground 110 KV XLPE cable system in Rhineland-Palatinate. The new cable route by network operator Westnetz is almost 18 kilometres long and transports regenerative electricity from wind turbines in the Hunsrück region to the conurbations of the region.
For the Spanish high-voltage grid operator Red Eléctrica de España (REE), in an EU-funded project, PFISTERER developed and supplied a transportable universal cable system up to 132 kV for rapid use in the event of gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) failures in substations.
With its Universal Repair Kit, PFISTERER offers grid operators the first universal, “ready-to-use” cable repair system – suitable for all XLPE insulated cables, regardless of type, age or diameter. Energy suppliers can now repair cable faults within a very short time, even in historically evolved networks. At the same time, their stock of universal components is reduced to a minimum.
PFISTERER cares about sustainability – we abide by this philosophy in product development of dry, oil and gas-free cable accessories, and sustainability is also reflected in our manufacturing process: At our metal processing facility in Gussenstadt, we make production more sustainable and environmentally friendly through smarter waste management, which enables us to significantly reduce lubricant usage and CO2 emissions.
